We are dedicated to improving our services and have invested in the infrastructure that supports Batch For Books, and which makes it so reliable.
A few years ago we decided to work towards gaining the ISO 27001, a standard of information security management published by the International Standardisation Organisation (ISO). Certification is subject to a stringent external audit and provides methodology for the implementation of information security.
Our decision to apply for ISO 27001 certification came at a time when we were entering into large software contracts with global players who look carefully at the operating standards of the companies they do business with.
We discovered that these global enterprises often expected us to be operating to a lower standard than some bigger companies. They were surprised and pleased to find that we had a superior system and operating procedures than they did, despite our size!
The focus of ISO 27001 is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of a company's information by performing a risk assessment, then systematically treating any potential security gaps. I'm delighted to say that the Batch system gained certification by demonstrating the strength of our policies, procedures, software and equipment. As a result, we are now one of the few companies of any size within the book trade to hold ISO 27001.
We always welcome any ideas that you may have on how we can provide a better service to booksellers and provide technical solutions for your business. I would be delighted to receive your comments and suggestions.
